Your standard pool requires a lot of energy and chemicals to keep it properly cleaned and filtered, and it can weigh a lot on your conscience if you’re not getting a lot of use out of it. This design uses what’s called pipeless filtration, in which both the pump and the filter system are built into the walls of the pool - without all of the piping that a standard pool would require. It’s thanks to this system that there’s a lot less water in use, making the need for chemicals and energy usage much less.

Having the pipes underground with the standard pool design might make it easier to not think about them, but you should know that they’re not going to last forever. During the harsher seasons of the year, they might be prone to cracking - which can lead to leaks, and possibly even floods within your garden.
